Training for Longevity — strong for decades, not just for summer

Fitness after 40 isn't about chasing the body you had at 22. It's about building one that carries you, powerfully and pain-free, through the next 40 years. That's the goal of longevity-focused coaching at Ally Fitness.

Why training changes after 40

Starting around our late 30s, we naturally lose muscle each decade if we don't actively work to keep it — a process called sarcopenia — and bone density starts to decline too. The good news: resistance training is one of the most powerful tools we have to slow, stop, and even reverse that decline. Strength training in your 40s, 50s, and beyond protects your muscle, supports your bones, keeps your metabolism resilient, and preserves the independence and capability that make life good. It's not too late — and it's the highest-return investment you can make in how you'll feel decades from now.

How we train for the long game

Your program is built to make you strong while respecting your body — joint-friendly progression, the mobility and stability work that keeps you moving well, and an intensity matched to you, not a 20-year-old. As a NASM-certified coach, I program for sustainable, lifelong progress: enough challenge to build real strength and bone-loading benefit, structured so you can keep doing it for years. We train for the things that matter — getting off the floor easily, carrying groceries, hiking with your grandkids, staying off the sidelines.
